Who we are

Hello, and welcome to Winds of Change Therapy! I’m Brooke Borst, LICSW, and I provide individual therapy for adults 18 and older.

I believe therapy should feel like a place where you can be completely yourself—without judgment, without having to have it all figured out, and without feeling like you’re talking to someone who doesn’t “get it.” My approach is warm, genuine, and down-to-earth.

I’m a caring therapist, but I’m also a direct one. I’ll listen without judgment, support you through the hard stuff, and, when necessary, lovingly call you on your bullshit. Because sometimes we need compassion, and sometimes we need someone to say, “Hey…let’s take a closer look at that.”

Life can be messy. Sometimes we find ourselves stuck in patterns we understand intellectually but just can’t seem to change. Sometimes we’re overwhelmed, hurting, angry, anxious, grieving, or simply exhausted from trying to keep everything together. You don’t have to navigate those things alone.

I have always been someone people feel comfortable talking to, and I genuinely care about helping others through difficult seasons of life. I bring empathy, humor, honesty, encouragement, and practical feedback into my work with clients. My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe enough to be vulnerable, but also supported enough to grow.

My approach is grounded in loving kindness and person-centered care, while recognizing that sometimes kindness also means having difficult conversations. I’ll meet you where you are, help you identify where you want to go, and work alongside you to create realistic goals and meaningful change.

I have experience working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, and other mental health concerns, as well as working with first responders and veterans. I tailor therapy to each individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

My therapeutic techniques include:

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy

Whether you’re going through a major life change, struggling with something that has been weighing on you for years, or simply know that something needs to change, I’m here to help you figure out the next step.

Services & Availability

I currently offer individual therapy for adults 18+, Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

In-person sessions in Brook Park, MN are coming Fall 2026!

I accept most major insurance plans, as well as private pay and a sliding fee scale.

Discounted cash rates are available for veterans, police officers, and first responders.

Not sure if therapy with me is the right fit? That’s okay! I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can connect, talk about what you’re looking for, and see if I’m the right therapist for you.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start therapy. You just have to be willing to take the first step.
