What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)?

ART was developed in 2008 by Laney Rosenzweig, MS, LMFT. It works with your brain’s natural ability to heal itself- similar to what happens during REM sleep. By combining visualizations and rapid eye movements, ART helps your brain reorganize how it stores distressing memories, so they don’t trigger the same emotional response anymore.

During a session, you’re in control the whole time. You don’t need to talk about the memory unless you want to. Instead, you’ll visualize it while following guided eye movements. This allows your brain to “rewrite” the memory, keeping the facts but stripping away the emotional pain. ART is like a mental makeover so you can feel calmer, stronger, and more grounded.

What Can ART Help With?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a powerful and efficient approach to healing that can help with a wide variety of emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges. It’s especially useful for people dealing with painful experiences or who haven’t found relief through traditional talk therapy. ART may be a great fit if you're struggling with:

• Anxiety & Panic Attacks – Learn to calm your nervous system and respond differently to stressors.

• Depression – Shift stuck emotional patterns and reconnect with a sense of hope.

• Phobias – Resolve intense fears that interfere with your daily life.

• Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) – Reprocess intrusive thoughts and compulsions in a new way.

• Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) & Trauma – Heal from overwhelming or unresolved experiences, including emotional, physical, and sexual abuse.

• Addictions & Substance Abuse – Address the emotional roots of addictive behaviors with compassion and clarity.

• Performance Anxiety – Feel more confident in high-stakes situations, whether on stage, at work, or in relationships.

• Memory Enhancement – Improve focus, recall, and cognitive clarity by clearing mental clutter.

• Family & Relationship Issues – Navigate conflict, communication challenges, infidelity, and more.

• Victimization & Poor Self-Image – Reclaim your self-worth and rewrite the internal story you've been carrying.

• Codependency – Establish healthier boundaries and develop self-reliance.

• Grief & Loss – Process the pain of losing someone or something important.

• Job-Related Stress – Reduce burnout and anxiety related to workplace demands or uncertainty.

• Pain Management – Address the emotional components of chronic pain.

• Dissociative Disorders – Support groundedness and integration after dissociation.

• Personality Disorders – Complement other therapeutic work by helping regulate intense emotions.

No matter what you’re carrying, ART offers a safe and structured way to work through it—often without needing to rehash every detail. It's about helping your brain and body finally let go of what’s no longer serving you, so you can move forward with more peace and clarity.

Adjunct to Your Current Therapy

If you already have a therapist, ART can complement your work.

Why ART Works When Other Approaches Don’t

Talking about trauma doesn’t always heal it. That’s because trauma isn’t just stored in your thoughts — it’s wired into your nervous system. ART helps your brain untangle that wiring, so your emotional response shifts automatically.

✅ No need to relive the trauma – You don’t have to talk about it unless you want to.

✅ Fast and effective – Most people feel relief in 1–5 sessions.

✅ Empowering – You stay in control of the process the whole time.

✅ Deeper healing – ART resolves emotional triggers at the root, so the changes last.

You don’t have to keep carrying the weight of the past.

ART offers a way to process painful memories without getting stuck in them.
